Baltazar en Nueva York

No me habría sentido con el derecho de asistir solo al estreno de El Último Hielero mientras hubieron muchas personas que ayudaron a hacer posible esta película. Al explorar formas de intercambio cultural más amplias que ver simplemente la película, fue inmediatamente evidente que Baltazar tenía que venir a Nueva York para participar en el festival. Es muy sencillo ver una película y olvidarse que la gente en ella es real, pero Baltazar, de pie delante de la audiencia del festival, ¡pudo traer a Ecuador al teatro! Y para Baltazar, que nunca antes había salido de Ecuador, sería una oportunidad para el intercambio cultural en la dirección opuesta, así como un símbolo de mi aprecio por todo lo que ha hecho por mí, la película y su comunidad. Y así, cuatro días antes de nuestra primera proyección en el Festival de Cine de Tribeca, Baltazar, su hija Carmen y el productor Rodrigo Donoso abordaron un vuelo en Quito y se dirigieron a la ciudad de Nueva York.
